Before you start the exercise you may want to change one or two of the options from the default settings. This can be done by pressing the middle or MENU button of the mouse over the main window. The main menu will appear and you can change both the difficulty level and the sound volume level.
There are three specific levels of difficulty:
Easy, Medium and Hard. These levels vary in the degree of physical similarity between the letters of the words being searched and the other distractor letters. A brief description of each level follows.
After selecting your options, you can start the game by moving the pointer over the 'Start' icon on the bottom left side of the screen and 'Selecting' by pressing the left or *SELECT* button on the mouse.
When the game has started, the list of words for you to find is printed down the right hand edge of the screen and the matrix of letters is presented.
The hidden words can be horizontal, vertical or diagonal across the matrix. The order of the letters of these words can also be normal or reversed. For example - if you are looking for the word 'cat' it
could look like
...CAT...
it could also look like
...C
...A
...T
or it could even look like
.........C
......A
...T
Once you have located one of the hidden words you tell the computer where the word is by moving the pointer to the 1st letter of the word and then pressing the left or *SELECT* mouse button . Then you should move the pointer to the 2nd letter of the word and press the left or *SELECT* mouse button.
When you have made your move you will have immediate feedback - both visual and auditory - as to whether it was correct or not. After finding the first word continue until you have located all 10 of the words.
There are 25 completely different Word Squares in this program. So... after completing one puzzle - you can then go on to try a new and different puzzle.
